In 2012, NHtB donated
93,750 blue bags for litter pick up to communities and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. We contributed
$20,216 towards signs in communities and schools. NHtB awarded
$52,040 in recycling grants to communities toward equipment purchases.
We provided over
$25,000 for high school recycling clubs and provided
106 ClearStream recycling containers and bags at discounted cost. In addition, we also subsidized the cost of
1,105 recycling bins, containers and bags in an effort to help keep your community beautiful.
Municipal Recycling Grants, Facility Signs Communities are eligible to apply for funding to assist with the purchase of recycling equipment.Grant applications are considered on an individual basis and funding may be up to 1/2 the purchase price. Some equipment may include curbside collection bins, balers, crushers, roll-off containers. Grants are paid as a reimbursement to communities after they have purchased the equipment.
Priority is given to communities: demonstrating the greatest need, funding can help the greatest number of people money has not been previously expended. Equipment purchased with NHtB grant money must be used exclusively for recycling. Communities that discontinue their program must either repay NHtB or work with NHtB to transfer that equipment for use in another community.
Schools, Business and TownsAdditionally, we support recycling in NH schools by helping to purchase collection containers and trailers – visit
www.schoolrecycle.net. NH the Beautiful (NHtB) is dedicated to helping schools, towns, non-profits and businesses capture more of those single-serve containers and “professionalize” recycling by providing attractive collection bins at discounted prices and Transfer Station Signage free of charge.
